Boston Bacon Beans
- 1 pkg bacon, chopped
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 heaping gl water
- 2 lb navy beans, rinsed
- 1 cup molasses
- 3 tbs brown mustard
- 1 scant tbs salt
- 2 tbs molasses
- 1 tbs cider vinegar
300 degree oven. Render bacon, add onion, cook until soft. Add water, salt, molasses, mustard, beans. Boil. Cover & bake until tender (about 4 hours) stirring once after 2 hours. Uncover & bake 1 more hour. Add remaining molasses & vinegar. Salt & pepper to taste.
